It’s that time of the month again – no, I don’t mean that time. It’s time for the monthly favorites wrap up. I’m trying to include a little more into these guys, but when you’re on a tight budget it’s sometimes hard to invest in too much. This month I had some new discoveries and old goodies come back into my routines, so I’m excited to share them with you all.
Clinique Moisture Surge Supercharged Concentrate: This was a new discovery this month and wow do I love it. It’s almost like a top coat for your face. This gel-like serum goes over top of your moisturizer to lock in all the nutrients and hydration it gives you, while providing a little extra itself. It left my skin feeling cool and plumb, but not oily. It could be considered a bit of a high maintenance product, but I think it definitely helps for the summer heat. In winter, I may stick to hydrating serums and oils though.
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator: My mom is a big fan of the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, but I always found my skin to still be flaky and dry even after I used it. When I saw it came in a cream formula I had to give it a try and I am so glad that I did. This stuff is amazing. One use and any tightness or dryness you have in your skin will be hydrated away. I am seriously in love with this product, but the smell isn’t something I’m a fan of. It’s fragrance-free, but has a weird herbal scent. It doesn’t last long, so no worries there. It does a wonderful job, though, so I think the scent is worth it.
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil: An old favorite I came back to after reading all the concerns about talc in beauty powders. I was originally using something from Cover Girl, but when I found out it contained talc I did away with it and returned to this old faithful. Mineral Veil is my all time favorite powder ever. This powder is like silk on your face, and will keep you oil free all day. It’s a life saver. I wish they had a pressed version for travel, but I think they might had done away with it? I’m not sure, so if you guys know, please put it down in the comments.
Eco Tools Total Perfecting Blender: I fell hard into the beauty sponge hype, but that’s because there is real merit in their finish. Using a beauty sponge has been the only thing that has allowed me to wear foundation and concealer and it doesn’t cake up on my dry patches. I’ve been quite loyal to the Real Techniques sponge, but wanted to try something new. I’d seen a lot of Youtuber’s using the Eco Tools sponge and they’re my favorite brand for brushes, so I had to give it a shot. Let me tell you, it’s wonderful. I can blend my makeup faster and with less pressure than the Real Techniques sponge, also it seems to clean better with less staining. I think I have a new favorite sponge.
Redkin No Blow Dry Just Right Cream for Medium Hair: I am a lazy girl when it comes to hair. It’s quite short, about to my collarbone when its curly, and I hate doing anything with it. I don’t blow dry, I don’t style, it just is what it is. My wonderful hairdresser recommended this to me because of said laziness, and it’s a game changer. Keeps frizz and breakage to a minimum, plus gives the wonderful shine you get with a blowout. This is a lazy girl’s dream.
Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Night Time Tea Body Cream: If you get stressed or anxious, I highly recommend checking out Bath and Body Works’ Aromatherapy line. They have a lot of great scents for all sorts of issues. I usually go with the Eucalyptus Spearmint scent, but decided to try something new and I love this. It’s so calming, but isn’t too strong so you don’t have to worry about being overwhelmed. I’ve been sensitive to scents for months now, (no, I’m not pregnant) and this isn’t too much for me to handle. Very relaxing and helps ease me off to bed at night. I’m just super upset that it’s no longer being sold though. T.T
And that is that. Hope you lovelies had a great month and good luck to everyone starting school in August! Let this be a great year for you! Please follow me on my twitter for updates and to give me some ideas of things you guys would like to see.
